Steve Shaw
Marketing Researcher at Wharton
I study the why of consumer behavior - how does our biology affect our consumption decisions? I use mixed-methods, but mostly techniques from cognitive neuroscience and molecular genetics.
Currently, I'm a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Marketing Department at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining Wharton, I got my Ph.D. at the Ross School of Business and M.A. in Statistics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Before that, I received a B.Sc. in Animal Behavior (more evolutionary biology than veterinary :) and B.Sc. in Genetics and Psychology from the University of Western Ontario, Canada.
In my spare time, I like to travel, hike, and explore new cultures (trying to get to all of the New7Wonders), listen to and make music (I play in a metal band), and go to a lot of movies!
